Wings West poly-urethane parts are made by injecting the urethane material into a closed mold. Urethane is a flexible material that is similar to most of the original bumpers on current existing autos. It will not crack like fiberglass when it is stressed, however impacts or stress may damage the paint surface. Urethane is the best material to make aerodynamic parts out of since it is made in a molded process. This ensures that each part is consistent, so the fit is virtually guaranteed. Like fiberglass, urethane parts require prepping and priming before painting. Although the process used for urethane can be more labor intensive than fiberglass, urethane is still far superior in quality than fiberglass.
Wings West fiberglass parts are made by combining a fiberglass cloth with resin, and hand laying it onto a (open) female mold. There are two processes for making fiberglass parts, chopper-gun and hand-laid. Wings West only uses hand-laid which is more labor intensive than chopper gun but the quality of the fiberglass is far superior. Fiberglass parts have a gel coat (primer) surface, which can be sanded and painted on. A primer coat is usually required before painting. Fiberglass parts may crack if they are stressed or impacted. Fiberglass body kit parts usually require pre-fitting onto the car before they are painted and installed.
Wings West warrants all aerodynamic styling products to be free from defects in material and or workmanship under normal use and exposure to environmental elements. Not covered under warranty is damage to the material or paint as a result of impact or stress. This is a conditional warranty. Any product deemed to be defective by Wings West and returned to Wings West within the stated warranty period of "Lifetime" will be repaired or replaced at the sole discretion of Wings West. Wings West does not assume any financial responsibility for the actual costs incurred for, the removal and replacement labor, paint or repainting, freight costs, rental car expense if any, nor for any incidental expenses or consequential damages that may be incurred. The expressed limit of Wings West liability for the product replacement ("Warranty") is limited by the original sales price of the product, as evident by the original purchase order to and the invoice from Wings West.
